JP, founder of JPion Software Solutions

About Me

I'm JP — a software developer based in Northern Michigan. I started JPion Software Solutions because small businesses deserve real software, not cookie-cutter templates and overpriced subscriptions built for someone else's problem.

I've been writing software for over 10 years. I work directly with every client — no account managers, no handoffs, no surprises. When you hire me, you get me.

How It Started

I started writing software the way a lot of developers do — learning C++ with the goal of making video games. A college capstone project changed my direction. Working directly with a local business showed me something I didn't expect: solving real operational problems for real people is more satisfying than anything I'd built before.

That led to more local work, eventually including internal tools for a small grocery chain — time spent close enough to the floor to understand inventory pressure, shift schedules, and what it means when the system goes down during a rush. Both experiences showed me the same thing: small businesses are chronically underserved by software vendors who treat them as an afterthought.

Everyone talks about supporting small business. Few actually build the tools to make it easier. That's the gap I'm trying to close.

How I Work

You own everything
Code, assets, content — it all transfers to you on delivery. No lock-in, no ongoing dependency on me unless you want it.
Fixed prices, written proposals
Every project starts with a written proposal outlining scope, timeline, and price. No scope creep, no surprise invoices.
Built to last
I don't build sites to look impressive in screenshots. I build them to work reliably for years.
